Field Studies Tutor
Job Description
- To deliver field study days in Geography, Biology and Environmental Science; teaching to both A level and GCSE. Tutors are responsible for the planning, teaching and safe leadership in the field of groups varying in size, age and ability. Tutors also produce and update the teaching materials used at the Centre. Primary Schools also use the Centre and Tutors will use the natural environment to teach any subject in the National Curriculum to KS2 children.
- To safely and enthusiastically lead groups of all ages from Primary Schools to adults in a wide variety of outdoor activities.
- To liaise with visiting staff prior to, during and after their visit for marketing and programme planning purposes.
- To hold or be prepared to obtain a current first aid certificate.
- To devise and implement new outdoor activities including building and preparing equipment where it is required.
- To take care of and maintain field study and outdoor activity equipment.
- To serve in the Centre's shop and bar where necessary.
- To assist with domestic tasks where necessary around the Centre.
- To undertake general jobs within a small, busy organization.
