This collection of prayers in Welsh and English started with prayersfrom the Bangor Diocesan Mothers' Union Inset, but others have been added.Ihave learnt Welsh, but I am not as proficient in the language as I wouldlike to be and therefore I find it very helpful to have prayers printedbilingually. I am grateful to the MU, Church in Wales and others for makingthese prayers available in a bilingual form. Matters of sources and copyrightare complex, especially with translations. If I have inadvertently failedto acknowledge sources properly I apologise and will willingly correct thematter or withdraw the material concerned. Eternal Lord God, who spreadest out the heavens andrulest the raging of the seas; who has compassed the waters with boundsuntil the day and night come to an end; be pleased to receive into Thy Almightyand most gracious protection all those who go down to the sea in ships andoccupy their business in great waters. The Lifeboat Prayer

Merciful Father, all things in heaven and earthare held within your loving care; look with favour upon the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Protect and bless the crews of all its lifeboats andall who risk their own safety to bring help to others. Guide all who workfor the Institution that they may be faithful to the vision of its founders,sothat it may always be seen as a beacon of hope and light to those who findthemselves in peril on the seas. Through the same Jesus Christ, to whomwith You and the Holy Spirit be honour and glory, now and forever. Amen.
